Henri Coanda (1886-1972) Romanian engineer, specialist in aerodynamics He have made, in 1910 December 14, the first aeroreactive flight in the world, with an airplane built by himself and propelled by a motoreactor. He have built many planes, known by the name Bristol-Coanda. In 1934 he had discovered the effect that is named in the whole world "Coanda Effect", with important practical applications in several domains. (Source:Internet) |

Traian
Vuia (1872-1950) Inventator român, pionier al aviatiei mondiale. A urmat
temporar cursurile Scolii politehnice si apoi pe cele ale Facultatii de
drept din Budapesta, obtinând in 1901 titlul stiintific de doctor in
stiinte juridice. Preocupat de problema realizarii zborului mecanic, a
plecat in 1902 la Paris, unde s-a ocupat de studiul constructiei
aeronavelor mai grele decât aerul. Intre 1903 si 1906 a conceput si a
construit un avion monoplan cu cadru din tevi de otel, cu aripi din pânza
de in.

Vuia (1872 - 1950) He
was a Romanian inventor, a pioneer of the worlwide aviation. He
temporarily attended the courses of the Polytechnic School and then the
courses of the Law Faculty in Budapest. In
1901 he received the scientific degree of doctor in juridical
sciences. Being concerned with the project of achieving the mechanical
flight, he left to Paris in 1902, where he studied the construction of
aircrafts heavier than the air. Between the years 1903 and 1906 he conceived a monoplane aircraft with a frame made by steel bars and having wings made of linen cloth. |
