Construita la sfarsitul secolului al XVI-lea pe cheltuiala familiei de boieri Movila, Manastirea Sucevita este inconjurata de ziduri cu turnuri la colturi sau la intrare, prezentandu-se asemeni unor manastiri fortificate.

   In interior se gaseau chiliile calugarilor si spatii pentru depozite sau ateliere.

   Pictura exterioara a Manastirii Sucevita este cea mai bine pastrata din grupul bisericilor cu pictura exterioara.” Scara virtutilor” fiind cea mai impresionanta, in care este reprezentata lupta dintre bine si rau, incercarea omului de a pasi spre perfectiune.

Built at the end of the 16 ^th century, at expense of boyar Movila`s family. Sucevita Monastery is surrounded by walls with pinnacles at the corner or at the entrance, looking like others walled monasteries.

   Inside, there were the monk`s sanctum and storage places or workshops.The outside painting of Sucevita Monastery is best preserved among the group of outside painted churches”The stairs of Virtues” Being the most imposing. It represents the struggle between good and evil, man`s attempt of reaching perfection
