La
guerre éclate en août 1914 dans une Europe divisée en deux blocs :
la Triple Alliance (Allemagne, Autriche, Italie) et la Triple Entente (
France, Russie, Angleterre). Dès
1914, la progression allemande, qui avait traversé la Belgique, se
stabilise sur la Marne. Une guerre de tranchées commence. Elle dure 4
ans, au cours desquels ont lieu de violents combats. L’armistice
est signé le 11 novembre 1918 après la capitulation allemande. L’énergie de Georges Clemenceau et l’aide des américains ont permis de mettre un terme à un conflit qui a fait un million et demi de morts en France et neuf millions en tout… |
The war started in august 1914 in Europe
which was divided in two groups : the « Triple Alliance »
(Germany, Austria, Italy) and the « Triple Entente »
(France, Russia and England). In 1914, the progress of german army had
reached the Marne through Belgium. A trench warfare began. Itlasted four
years with many violent battles. The peace treaty was signed on November, the
11th of 1918 after the Geramn defeat. Georges Clemenceau's energy and the american help managed to put an end
to this conflict which killed 1.5 million people in France and 9 million
globally. |
