Cristóbal Colón, navegante genovés, descubrió América en 1492 al servicio de los Reyes Católicos con tres carabelas: la Pinta, la Niña y la Santa María. Realizó cuatro viajes y murió sin saber que había descubierto un nuevo continente. El descubrimiento provocó en Europa un gran interés por los viajes hacia los nuevos territorios. |
Christopher Colombus, a sailor from Geneve (Italy) discovered América in 1492. The King and the Queen helped Colombus with material resources and manpower. They sailed the Atlantic Ocean with three carabels. Colombus made four trips but he died without knowing he had discovered a new continent. The discovery stired interest in Europe for travelling towards new lands. |
